  I started Mona Vale Kindy almost 35 years ago and I am still as devoted to it now as I was then. I pride myself on the excellent education and care we provide and on the amazing, dedicated team we have. I value our community and our families and still love nothing better than simply chatting to the children during my morning time outside... precious moments in my busy day

  I love coming into the warm atmosphere of kindy each week and saying hello to the little faces that appear at my door .. a welcome breather from the finance.

  I love taking a break from admin and spending time with the children for some perspective  ... sitting with them during lunch, catching up with them and hearing about their day is my favourite part of mine and is, I realise often, the only time I really do anything of genuine importance.

  I love being with the 2-3 year olds and seeing how much they grow during their year; their language, their independence and confidence, their friendships and their love of exploring our world. Nurturing them during their first year with us and seeing them flourish is so very rewarding.

  I love knowing that each day I help to make a difference in these little people’s lives, playing an active role in developing the social, emotional and physical skills that they will take with them through life. I love supporting them to grow and witnessing them achieve something for the first time, so rewarding.

  I love teaching young children using a ‘hands on’ approach and am passionate about teaching and learning through creative arts and music. I am at my happiest when connecting to the children through music, taking them on journeys around the world and hearing the wonderful stories they have to share!

  I enjoy listening to the children’s conversations as they chat with me and each other. I appreciate the opportunity to extend their language, understanding of the world and their love of books. It makes my day when they bring in a book from home to share and I love their smiles when we share a joke or funny moment!

  I have been working at MVK for the past 8 years and there is nowhere quite like it! I believe kindy should be a safe, happy place for a child and I love being able to do the fun, sensory and messy activities and be a child with them again for a while!

  There's nothing quite as fulfilling to me as being the 'safe place' on which a child can rely. I know I'm doing my job well when a child comes to me for reassurance and guidance before securely returning to play. I also love setting up creative play spaces and watching the children engage with and love their activities. I see my job as a facilitator of learning whilst assisting in the development of empathy and consideration for others.

  I love creating supportive environments for the children and watching them actively learn and grow. I enjoy witnessing the children form connections and bonds with one another. Each child has their own unique personality which blossoms in their own light, and watching this unfold is such a delight!

  I love taking the time to find out what makes each child unique and listening to them talk about their interests and family. The environment is my passion and I love engaging the children through country and our environment. My favourite time of day is first thing in the morning, welcoming all the happy faces and knowing we are all going to have a wonderful day.

  I love playing with the children and having the excuse to be a big kid with them! Making a mess with sensory play has to be our favourite as well as watching them create with paints and seeing their creative talents emerge.

Watching all the smiles, laughter and wonder at each new milestone they reach adds just as much to my day as it does to theirs!
